The last time I went through a travel agent I had to suggest Jetstar to her, she had never heard that they even flew that route!! In any case, I agree have found it cheaper to book way ahead, to book and fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but personally I would find out what flights and airlines are available before heading into a travel agent.
