Say I finish my final year of high school, I'll still be 17. But, if I were to do my SATs here and whatnot, and apply to universities in New York, would I be able to move there then?

Yes, absolutely. You would be able to get an I-20, which would allow you to cross the border legally as a student (on an F-1).

Finish up high school in Canada, then start applying to colleges in NYC. There are a lot of them around here, and I'm sure that if you have good grades/SAT scores, you should be able to get into one without much difficulty. Often times there are scholarships and other funding available to offset the cost of tuition.

You need to be at least 14 to get F-1, whether CBP will want some evidence your parents are okay with it is up to them at the POE.

You need proof of funds to get F-1, the admissions office at the college you apply to can explain this.

If you then decide to marry your boyfriend when you're 18 you can apply for AOS at that point.
