3 Year TN with 1 and half year valid passport

I want to apply for 3 years TN visa but my passport only valid for next 1 and half year. Is it possible to obtain the 3 year TN visa or I can only get 1 year TN?

You should be good to go. Provided your passport is valid for at least another 6 months, there should be no issues with regards to being admitted at the border by CBP.

You are fine but you need to renew your passport 6 months in advance of expiry with your work visa, this is a post 9-11 requirement and it is not a CDN requirement it is a DHS requirement.
