6 month visa

Hi, I have been in Cali for 3 months and I am thinking of moving back to Canada since it is impossible to find a job. I thought that you could only be in the US for 3 months out of a year, so I am worried that I will not be able to come back any time soon. What is the 6 months that I read about, is that a visa I have to get from the embassy? Where can I getone? thanks. If sny one knows how I can get a job or where that would be great too!! I have no BA and that seems to put a huge damper on things.

Canadians can stay in the USA for 6 months (you do not need to buy a visa for this) but the only way to stay longer is to get a job. I have been trying to do that for a bit now as well but companies can't seem to be bothered with the cost/paperwork that is involved in petitioning me. If you have any luck in the job department let me know.
