Adding job responsibilities to current TN Visa

Hi,

I'm on my second TN working as a Computer Systems Analyst for a US media company.

Recently, my boss asked if I could take on additional responsibilities that have nothing to do with being a Computers Systems Analyst.

To be clear, I'd still continue performing my Systems Analyst job functions but I would also be working on Business Development. There would be no additional pay but the reason I'm interested is because I have specialized in computers for a number of years so this would help round out my CV.

Would I be violating my TN?

This is a violation of the conditions described in your TN letter.

Its one thing to make photocopies while doing your job -- this does not make you a clerk.

But to take on a completely different function unrelated to your TN job is not acceptable.
