Adult child wants to join Mum in UK

Post Sun Feb 07, 2010 7:18 am

My adult daughter wants to move to the UK to be with her family. Her brother and I have been here less than a year. She is not a student and would need a work visa. Because My fiance is on disability I am not sure if we could qualify as her sponsors. Can anyone offer advice?

It all depends. Looks like sponsorship is out for you for the time being.

Is she under 31? She can get a Youth Mobility Scheme Visa, which is good for 2 years, but will have to return to her home country at the end of it.

Does she have an MBA? She may qualify for a Tier 1 work visa.

Does she have a BA, and a potential UK employer? She may qualify for a Tier 2 visa.

Does she work for a company that has an office in England? She may be able to get a transfer with them.

Was at least one grandparent born in the UK? She may be eligible for an Ancestry Visa.

Take a look at this page, and click on the links: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... mparisons/

Hopefully that will help you.

Thanks very much for your help. Unfortunately the answers are no, no and no! She's 19 and hasn't had post high school education...I wish she had come with me when she was still a "child" !
thanks again. XX
