Advice about how to end up working overseas

Post Sat Aug 09, 2003 5:00 pm

Hello. I am a college student here in Ontario, Canada. I am earning a technical diploma in Computers. I will have my studies completed this month and will be graduating. One thing I like to do is work in another country like Britain. Can someone give me some advice of how I can search for a job successfully overseas, and what are actually the chances of me working abroad considering I have no relatives in other countries, and I am not a university graduate with a degree? Is there organizations out there that can help me with it? Thanks so much.

Hey there,

I was much in the same boat. Pretty much what I did was go online and apply to anything that even remotely looked like I could do, or learn quick enough. I got lucky, and a few companies offered me positions overseas. They know how to deal with the paper work and can usually help out, though it's definetely helpful to get a work visa before you start applying.

Check out the Overseas Jobs page on the site, and you'll find some good resources to post your resume.

Good luck!
