Am I able to use great-grandparents for Ancestry Visa?

Post Sun Nov 27, 2011 11:11 pm

I am a Canadian. My grandfather was the first to be born in Canada when my grandparents emigrated here. I have a great aunt and a great uncle who were born in Sweden where my great-grandparents were born and married. I would like to work in the UK but I'm finding it very difficult to obtain a work visa. If I could use my great-grandparents for the ancestry visa that would help me greatly. Does anyone know if it's possible?

You can only claim UK Ancestry through your grand-parents born in the UK.

If you're under 31 years of age, you can apply for Tier 5 Yuoth Mobility Scheme which would allow you to live and work in the UK for 2 years. You can also apply for Tier 2 if you have a job offer from a UK employer that is registered as a sponsor in the UK.
