You'd definitely want to have some insurance. We live in Manitoba and applied to extend our provincial benefits to cover her being out of the country for a year. I don't know your age but our daughter is also covered under our extended Blue Cross as long as she is only working part time up to the age of 21 and so has health benefits available to her wherever she is. We just discovered this. If I learn anything else I'll let you know.
