American Husband with a Felony

Hello, I currently live in the U.S with my husband and would like to move to Canada, but he has a felony on his record and has only been off of probation for 1 year. Does this make it impossible for him to receive permanent residence in Canada?

It'll be in NCIC so they'll be able to see it, I think your best plan of action is to call the CIC helpline and ask (or ask at the local consulate), because Canada is more interested in the type of offence than what it's called in the US.

Try roadtocanada.com, they are extremely helpful and knowlegeable there.

However, I think that a felony conviction would exclude him, yes. I think you would need to wait until he has been off probation for long enough to apply for a pardon (I think 5 years with no incidents or problems) and then he might be eligible to move to Canada.
