Hey Everyone!

Great advice on here, its helped answer some of my questions before I even got to ask them ;)

Quick question though . I've collected the documents I need to send in with my application . mine, my dad's and my grandmom's long form birth certificates . my grandmom's is red and white and called "certified copy of an entry of birth" . is this the document that people have been sending in? . The UK visa site says something about entry of birth not be acceptable?

Thanks
Erich

I think the uk site says a REGISTRATION of birth is unacceptable. At least that's what I have been going by. I have the same long form birth certificate as you do for my grandfather. I am unable to confirm that it's correct as i'm still in the process of making my application, but I'm hoping it is the correct form as it is what the registrar's office sent us from the UK. :-)

I am applying for the ancestral visa for the UK through my grandfather, But some of my Grandfathers documents I only have photocopies of them...!!! I don't know if I should bother putting them in my application ??? what should I do!?! I have some that are true documents... birth certificates of my mother, grandfather and myself. :?:

Also my Parents are divorced which means they had there marriage certificate taken from the courts will this effect the process?

Thanks everyone

So, can I assume everything went okay with the document you had? I have a similar one for my grandfather, and was worried it wasn't going to be enough.

Thanks!

Hi!

I'm new here and it looks like a great site...loads of info!

I was wondering if anyone can confirm the documents required for the Ancestry Visa..I was on the World Bridge Site and I found this:

As a guide, you should include:

* Your full birth certificate.
* Marriage certificates of your parents and grandparents, and legal adoption papers if you or your parents are adopted.
* The full birth certificates of the parent and grandparent through whose ancestry you are making your application.
* Your marriage certificate or civil partnership registration document, if your husband, wife or civil partner intends to join you in the UK.

Just looking for clarification on the Marriage certificates of your parents or grandparents;..the way I read this is they are only required if your parent/grandparents are adopted.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :D

The purpose of their marriage cert is to prove your 'legitimacy'. UK citizenship matters are (or were) based on children born in wedlock.
