I'm completing my ancestry visa application and am stuck on a couple of questions (so far.haven't completed it yet). Was hoping that someone would be able to help!

1. They ask for current address and length of time lived at this address. I've been temporarily living at my in-laws for 2 months while we waited for my husband's work permit to be approved. My in-laws live in NB but my husband and I lived in ON for the past 5 years. I have to put the NB address on my application because this is where we are right now, but will it look bad if I put length of time at the address as 2 months? Also, if they ask for any sort of ID, we don't have any ID or supporting documentation that we live at the address in NB.

2. They ask if my son will be traveling to the UK and if he'll be traveling under a) his own passport, b) my passport, or c) he won't be traveling with me. My son is 10 months old and will be traveling with me and my husband. I'm applying for an ancestry visa, my husband's applying for a work permit visa, and we're going to apply for my son's visa under my husband. So, on the application would I put down that he's traveling under his own passport? Or that he's not traveling with me?

Hoping someone can help! This is stressing me out!

It doesn't matter how long you've lived at your current address - when I did my application I had a Toronto address and then needed to appeal and put a Barrie address - they called me to see what address I wanted it sent to.but it really doesn't matter as they see no evidence as to where you actually live.

Also for your son - you should just put that he is traveling under his own passport - but wouldn't it be easier for him to be a dependant under you? As an Ancestry visa allows you to get insurance and such - I don't think your husband can get that - and then could your son?

Glad to hear it's no big deal about the address. I'd rather apply for an ancestry visa than for a visa under my husband. We're worried that if anyone's not going to be approved for a visa, it's going to be me. My husband has a work permit and we're fairly confident he'll get his visa so we thought it'd be easier for our son to go under him. My understanding was if that you have a work permit, then you and dependants are covered by NHS. I wasn't aware that ancestry visa holders were covered under NHS.
