Announcement on settlement

Post Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:31 am

The Home Secretary today announced that the link between temporary work visas to the UK and settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) is to be broken, and that up to 100,000 people a year will no longer be eligible for permanent residency in the UK. Check out the article in the guardian today (5 November) for more details.

It makes me want to cry. We are so close - only 2 more months until we can apply for ILR under the current rules - are they going to sweep the rug out from under our feet?

Don't worry, for the moment the current rules on ILR remain and they will probably be still in effect in 2 months.
