I was reading some old threads, but most of them involved importing your vehicle from Canada which I won't be doing. So here's my situation:
I am currently in Saskatchewan. I will be heading down to California on a TN. I am not taking my car with me. However, I would like to buy a car once I get down there.
I will need to apply for a SSN, but I realize this can take a few weeks. I have a valid Saskatchewan driver's license. I was planning on getting a car through Volkswagen's foreign worker program in order to get financing. Can I do this with a Sask. license or do I need a Cali one?
I have read on these boards that you only have 10 days to obtain a Cali driver's license. I guess I'm confused on the timing of this. If I'm not going down with a car, I will need to buy a car in order to even take the road test. But can I do that without a license...?
I'm so confused. I hope this makes sense.
