Any Canadian electricians working in OZ

Hi there, my family and I are thinking about trying out the Gold Coast. Just wanted to know if there are any Canadian Electricians working in Aus on this forum and how you guys got your qualifications assessed.
Can't seem to find much about it on the internet as the assessing authorities that there are in Aus only deal with Electricians coming from the likes of the UK.

Your best bet would be contact the AAIT in edmonton and see if you are able to challenge the red seal exam.

If you are then you will be able to get a job here very easily, we made sure that my hubby had the 9000hrs in the trade and all his paperwork before we came for interviews.

Hi there thanks for your reply. We actually live in Calgary so my husband sat the IP along with his final TQ, so he does have that already. We are probably going to go the Skilled workers visa, the work permit makes me nervous!!

My other half works in BAS for a large company here and is hoping to carry on that line of work in Aus, do you know what the prospects are like?? Do you have to re-certify in Aus?
