hey JJ, its possible we're going to Slov. It really depends on our time situation. But if we have time then yeah for sure we'll be going there. And Linus, is there any way to contact you or want me to just make a post on here or something?

Hey Linus, I was recently offered a job in Vienna and was wondering about the cost of living, housing districts suitable for families, do's and dont's, etc
Can you land me a hand?

Thanks

Hi all! I realize that this topic was posted 3 years ago but perhaps there are still some friendly canucks in Vienna? I will be going there in early Dec 2008 and possibly moving there for some time. I would like to hear from any of you! Cheers!

This is for anyone who knows about working in Austria:

I am heading over in September from Canada, and need information about working/permits. My employer is organizing my work visa, but I need to know if I need any other permits, such as a 'residency permit'. I am only staying for one year. (I'm going to be an Au Pair)

If anyone knows, please tell me! Thanks a lot :) --C.

I know this post is old, however maybe someone can help!

My boyfriend and I recently visited Vienna, and we really love the European lifestyle/mentality and am interested in possibly moving.

I know this process is daunting, for those of you who have done it, what are some of the first steps? How long can you live/work there for, I'm assuming any sort of immigration without ancestry is difficult.

We met some American's who had opened a store there and they said they were on an artist's visa for the last 5 years, I thought that once you were in the country for x amount of years, you could apply for permanent status.

Any info would be helpful!
