Any Canadians in Northern Ireland?

Postby lastminuteliggett » Tue Feb 12, 2008 12:48 pm

My family is originally from Northern Ireland. On one of my many visits I met a local lad.Long story short, we're getting married in Sept. As I am now living here permanently it would be nice to have some Canadian connections.

Canadian considering moving over

Postby waring » Thu Feb 28, 2008 4:35 am

Good morning, I am Canadian, born and raised in Quebec/Southern Ontario. I'm considering moving over to Ireland in 2009. I just got back from visiting Ireland, this last Sunday; loved it and I'm in love with an Irishman. Would you recommend it; how are you doing? I know i was at a loss for a proper cup of coffee but willing to sacrifice that if need be. Folks seemed to be very nice, welcoming but that was a vacation not reality. I look forward to hearing from you, Deb

Meant to mention

Postby waring » Thu Feb 28, 2008 4:38 am

Hi, again, lastminuteliggett, I meant to mention that my Dad's family is also from Northern Ireland; part of my desire to move over there is to have the opportunity to explore that part of my heritage.
See ya, Deb

Hi Deb,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you It's been crazy at work. I love it over here. There are pros and cons and it is an adjustment but I am very happy to be here. I did find it hard to get used to small town life.everybody knows everything about you and then some! I bought a real coffee maker and disposed of all instant coffee in the house! The food has changed over the years (improved) and I am now able to get almost everything that i'm used to in Canada.the only downfall is the fruit. Not nearly as fresh as Canada.

The lifestyle is great. Very social and not generated by work, work, work. I think I value this outlook on life more than anything.

I hope this answers a few questions for you. If you would like to know anything wlse let me know,

Michelle
