any canadians in Nottingham

Post Mon Nov 15, 2010 11:43 am

I just moved here in May and am finding it very hard to meet people and consequently very lonely. Are there any Canadians in the Nottingham area that want to grab a pint, or check out the reported Tim Hortons at the QMC hospital. or does anyone have any suggestion to meed people in the Nottingham-shire area? I have tried the usual salsa classes etc. but have come up with nothing.

Hi! We are a Canadian family living in Nottingham for over 2 years now. We did not have any difficulty in making friends, British and other Europeans. We very much enjoy going to see the Panthers, ice hockey is still in our blood. And when there is snow on the ground we take out the shovels and Oskar snow brushes that we brought with us and become instantly popular with the neighbours. When we go back home on vacation, we bring back Montreal Steak spices, poutine and St-Hubert BBQ sauce envelopes, Tim Horton coffee and other canadian food. I must admit we do not miss much here. The large Costco in Derby provides a good supply of north-american style goods at good price. What do you find difficult at the moment, can we help?
