ALso, a bar in Edinburgh named Hectares used to serve Sleemans. I think they stopped but they might have started again! Check it out!
I will be living there as of the Middle of January 08, if anybody has any friendly advice for someone new to the area then feel free to email me canadian.shaun at gmail dot com
Thanks for the hints Sneex.will do! I'm getting to know how to get around better and i have a car now which helps although i don't know how much i'll actually drive to the city.
I am living in Edinburgh. I am origionally from Ontario. I would love to meet up with some fellow Canadians to discuss the challenges of living in the UK.
Ugh, that really sucks.you have to make sure on a holidaymaker that you have 2,000 dollars i think so they know you don't need help financially.
You'll get there. The whole process if everything runs smoothly doesn't take long, only 2-3 weeks to find out if you can come to the UK or not and to have your passport stamped.
I called OHIP and they told me that my health coverage will be cancelled if i move away. Of course, i never reported it as long as i come home once in awhile and use it i guess. I know i'll be home at least every six months if not before.
If you have a holidaymaker, you are eligible for coverage in the UK. All you have to do is find a doctor that will take you on as a new patient and you will be ok for medical coverage if you need it here. Hope that helps.
