Any Canadians in the Edinburgh/East Lothian area

I just moved to the East Lothian area (around Tranent/Gladsmuir) which is only 20 min. away from Edinburgh two weeks ago and wondering where all the Canadians are.

I would love to meet new people as i'm in the country here and it's quite quiet.

I'll be trying for a working holiday visa . Not sure for work, but I have a free place to stay so I guess if need be I can look around when I get there . Went for the first time ever this August and loved it, even if it costs twice as much!

Did the exact same thing as you. The process was awful bc i was too honest in my application about what my intentions were of me being here (long story) but otherwise, really happy to be here and with my boyfriend who is Scottish. The same as you, free place to live but you're right, everything else is expensive!

I was definitely thinking about going through the SWAP route bc they do everything for you but i decided to go directly through the British High Commission for some reason.

I'm so sorry i haven't checked this and realized that there are two new postings.

I'm from Toronto. I've lived there all my life and just moved here almost 2 months ago to be with my boyfriend.

I am in Gladsmuir which is in between Tranent and Haddington, right smack in the middle of the country, with no neighbours which is lovely.

I would love to get together.it would be nice to meet new people from back home. I haven't really met anyone here yet.
