I'm a 23 yr old psychology student. I want to take a year off to spend some time in the states working and experiencing life before completing my degree and going into the masters program.I also want to take this opportunity to determine if I could like living in an american city to do my masters and would like to decide before actually applying.

Is there any way to get a visa to work for up to a year in an american city? I don't have a particular job picked out, but definately am open to jobs that would give me a better chance than others.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The easiest way to remain in the states by far, IMHO, is by maintaining your student visa status.

Sounds like he's a student in Vancouver.

Depends on what your degree is in I suppose, you might be able to get TN-1. Or you could look into a J-visa program maybe.

Good idea to do the master's in the US though as there is an additional quota for H-1B if you have a US master's degree.
