I just travelled through Slovakia this summer digging up "famly roots". (from Bratislava to Kocise -- a lovely country and certainly a unique experience.

Hi everyone, I am also living in Bratislava. I was born in Ontario Canada, lived in New York for 8 years and now am here in Bratislava with my boyfriend who was originally born here and after a trip in 2007 decided to move back. I'm hoping to find some people who speak english. I would also be interested in taking Slovak lessons but would love a fellow english speaking / non slovak speaking person to go with (yeah call me chicken .. that's okay heh) Anyway, if anyone is interested, feel free to post or pm.

Hey there,

My name is Jozef. I was born in Canada but my grandfather is from Jasenie, Slovakia... a small town. He passed away in 1984 but now I am very interested in exploring my roots. Does anyone have any information on something like an ancestry visa so that I can move to Slovakia and spend a lot of time there, rather than just a short vacation.
