I just got an e-mail saying my UK Ancestry visa application was approved. I sent it in exactly one week ago (Wednesday). I got an e-mail on Friday saying they received it and it would take 10 business days to process. It has only taken 3 days!

The thing that took the longest was trying to get the Canadian long form birth certificates I needed. This took about a month and a half. My grandfather's birth certificate came from the UK about a week after the application was sent in.

There is a story in the paper today that the UK ancestry visa may be canceled. You might want to speed things up if possible.
