Anyone in Nuremberg? Munich? & Banking

Post Thu Aug 21, 2008 1:18 am

Hi All,
After months of form-filling and jumping through bureaucratic foolishness I am now 10 days away from moving to Nuremberg (from Vancouver). Are there any other Canucks living in the area? How about Munich? I would love to experience Oktoberfest with someone who appreciates Canadian brew.

Also, I need to open a bank account ASAP when I arrive, any good recommendations? Does Germany have credit unions?

Many thanks,
E

Hello E.,

Sorry I'll be missing Oktoberfest (although I've been through a few), however I'll be moving to Munich mid Noevember - early December (I'm from London- just south of Toronto). However there is always next year for Oktoberfest (once you are there once, you will alway go back.) I know some people in Nuremberg, so I may be there this winter. I guess you are moved already, so let me know how you like it.

Hello E,

I've been living in Nurnberg for 3.5 years, but only just discovered this site.

Kinda late for Oktoberfest now, but I'm curious. Now that you've been here for a while, do you still 'appreciate' Canadian brew?

Cause I feel spoiled now and could probably never go back to it. :)

I am interested into why you have picked Germany as a place to move to from Canada. Any information would be appreciated.

I am looking to relocate to Munich / Nuremburg area depending on work opportunities - I have an EU passport so work visa shouldn't be a problem. Looking at digial / online based work...any feedback from fellow canucks would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Patrick
