Anyone want to marry a 22yr old british graduate?

Post Tue Sep 20, 2011 7:25 am

Hi my name alan ,a 22 yr old british guy who wants to relocate to Canada. It would be extremely convenient for both of us if we have a natural relationship/friendship and both our goals are achieved. i'm not sure if i am breaking the law by posting this but im pretty sure theres nothing illegal about searching for a canadian spouse. if people have arranged marriages all the time why cant we marry to make our lives easier? who knows we might actually fall in love in lol

Me: a british citizen (you can live and work in any country of your choice in the EU)
You: canadian citizen

Only serious enquiries please.

alansouthwest, this may not be the place for what you're after.

But, since you asked - just how much money do you have?

One of my single daughters with three children says she would consider it as long as you first wire transfer $250,000 to her.

Now, on a more serious note ... you've got to be kidding with your opening post, which I think the moderators should remove.

Maybe though on second thoughts, leave it on here, & maybe we can get to hear more from you why you are looking to get to Canada on a marriage of convenience visa.

Why not simply apply as an immigrant & see if you'd cut it based on the points system

... and why hold out the carrot of being able to work in EU, when you don't want to do this.

My wife said it was too much trouble at this stage of her life, btw.

no response yet from alansouthwest, I wonder if he has received any personal responses to his OP

I wonder Alan if you've ever been to Canada at anytime, especally in the dead of winter when temperatures for at least three months in the major uban centres can average minus 30'C - then in the middle of summer is up above + 30'C & as high as 40+C with the humidex

Canada is an interestng place, not much work here, little to zero social (welfare) benefits unlike the UK, most health care unless you have a works benefit plan means you need to pay for all of your dental & prescriptions. Accommodation is the biggest cost especially if you are working for minimum wage, which in Ontario is approx 6.00GBP/hr ($10.25/hr) lower in other provinces.

Do you really think that a Canadian needs to have a British spouse just so they can have right of abode in the UK - I just dont see why a home grown Canadian would ever want to consider a move to little Britain after having open minded & open clean spaces of Canada.

What advantages are there for a Canadian taking up with a Brit just for the convenience

Alan maybe you can post back on here & ask a zillion questions which I'm sure the members on the thread would be more than helpful to answer.

For your consideration, have you checked out the UKYankee website forums - IMO, thats probably a better place to post that you are looking for a bride. Seems too me reading the forums there that a lot of marriages of convenience are developed by Americans with Brits

Dear Alan,

I am pretty certain it's not illegal to post this, it's just illegal to lie to officials when they ask you to prove that your relationship is authentic - which they will do.

Save yourself the trouble and do it legitimately: with a university education, it should not be that hard for you to immigrate to Canada when you have a few years of experience under your belt. In fact, you could start by entering Canada on a working holiday visa (the way so many of us Canadians have entered the UK), get Canadian experience and hopefully get sponsored by a Canadian company when your visa expires. At the very least, you'll have two years in which to meet lots of Canadian girls to have a real relationship with.

If you are really adamant on meeting a Canadian female, I would just like to point out that there are thousands of young Canadians currently in the UK, many of whom are probably female, at least a few of whom probably have similar long-term ambitions and similar intellectual interests to you.

But to be honest, I'm pretty sure the British and Canadian governments are onto this trick. In order to be able to relocate to Canada, they ask you a lot of invasive questions about your relationship, request to prove the relationship through letters and photographs and ask you to fill out long questionnaires. Then they'll make you wait in bureaucratic standby for awhile. And at the end, they'll probably catch on, maybe by googling your email address and coming up with this post. And even if you do get through, you'd have to live together for a few years, and ... what a headache. I think it's just easier to get a job and go about it that way.

So, don't waste your time. Either do it legitimately or at least start dating Canadians until you find one with whom you have a real connection.
cheers!

How are you finding it??? Are you coming to the Canadian thanksgiving on Monday evening?? :)

I too am having a terrible time finding work - I feel like I'll be going home soon because of it. I've found that too many Brits all seemingly have negative attitudes and don't want to face reality (its my 2 years visa that's a problem - yet this day in age, you'll be lucky if someone stays for 1 year!!)

I love London more and more by the day. I love living with people from all over the world again and I love that there is always something interesting to do, lots of it free.

Won't make it to the thanksgiving dinner unfortunately - it's full, with 10 others on the wait-list!

But I'm with you, the job situation is becoming a problem and I may have to go home in early November if nothing changes. Then again, in speaking with other international people, it sounds like the average time to get a job is anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks, so although there is a lot (a lot!) of rejection here, there is still time for the winds to change!

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the thanksgiving dinner and I'm sure you'll meet many people with whom to network and who can offer advice! Have fun and PM me if you ever want to meet up for a coffee!
