Applying for a new TN Visa

Postby GoldisRising » Thu Aug 27, 2009 7:11 am

i was recently told by my company that i will be assigned a couple of tasks to work from our branch in US, so the first thing i decided was to go and check with the lawyer what would be the easiest way to go to the US. (Lawyer paid by the company)

I met the lawyer and he informed me the best thing for me to do would be to apply a TN for Management consultant. I am just a little bit confused because this requires a degree, it does not requires a degree. You need 5 years of experience however when i googled i found out that its true however its in the hand of the visa officer to either accept or deny that.

My job duties
i will be a consultant to the mangers at the US location, My job is to pretty much observe things ( related to IT and Infrastructure) and then write a report to the managers. We are in the process to upgrade our entire infrastructure they need to know how to save cost etc

Problem is that i have been googling for the past hour and all i can see is that Management consultant can be very tricky.

I can tell the Visa officer what i will be doing and i can answer his/her questions i think i can but if someone gets tricky then i can't i don't even have a bone in me to understand when someone's being tricky. Just someone from Missississuga and not James Bond

based on all this do you guys think i should apply for an L visa?

Excuse me this really sucks i don't want to go anywhere i am just happy where i am and now i am spending time worrying about visas? i think i am too old for this visa thing anymore

We are not being tricky. We are doing our job to determine if your lying or not. If you qualify and are actually doing the job, you should have no problem.

Think about this......last month I dealt with a guy who applied for a TN as a Mngt. Consultant, during the interview he gave off this vibe that you could cut with a knife. Turns out, after an hour, that he was going to be working at his buddies store as a cashier. Again its not us being "tricky".

LoL this is too funny, sorry i think people do it out of desperation, but that does not mean to treat every person with suspicion.
Imagine every time a police officer stopped you and asked you if you are drunk, if your high or if you get thoughts of punching your cat or your mother in law your pick.

Their are some who lie and try to get into the US and majority of these people are the one who just want to be with their family and have some sort of bars etc.
One can also assume of lot of the people are not lying but cannot provide concrete proof of their visits and get denied.

Imagine spending Billions of dollars trying to prevent Consuela or Jose to get a job in McDonald's , while the real culprits weather its the hedge fund companies, banking industry, insurance company goes and screws US upside down, 4.4 million job losses from October to April and many more to come. Add people like Bernie Madoff and Allen Standord who have robbed people blind. Unofficial unemployment is about 15% in the US if you add contractors etc and not because of people lying and crossing the border its just because of Greed.

I guess in the end its easier for a politician to come out and say that these outsiders are taking our job and if you vote for me i will kick these people out. I am sure its popular cry among politicians all over the world.
