Applying for a UK passport

Post Sat Mar 19, 2011 6:20 pm

Hello,
My father is from Britain, although he has been a Canadian citizen since before I was born. I would like to apply for a UK passport, but am unsure of how the difficult the process is. I have my fathers birth certificate, and my parents marraige certificate, and of course my own birth certificate and canadian passport. Would any other document be required? Assuming I have the correct documents, would it still be possible to be denied a passport? Your advice is appreciated! thanks!

UK Nationality Law is not as simple as it may seems so before you apply you should call the Passport Adviceline on + 44 0300 222 0000 to ensure you're a British citizen.

You can also find more information on which documents to submit with your application at
