Applying for TN at a non-CND/US border POE

Post Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:07 pm

My current TN status expires at the end of April and I am planning to apply again. I will be in Europe when it expires so applying when I return would happen at an airport not connected/related to the US-Canada border (I'm not sure of my travel plans yet). Would anyone suggest against this (greater chance of denial?) or know if it's even allowed?

My other option is to drive to Canada before I leave for Europe and apply then.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Thank you.

It used to be difficult, but TN is more and more reliably issued at US airport POEs. CBP have been better trained on it.

I would not alter my travel plans just to go to the border.
