are things still cheaper in Canada?

Would you guys still say that food and whatnot are still cheaper in Canada given the current exchange rates?

I think that depends where in Canada you live. Quite frankly, London and Toronto are pretty well on par with one another including the exchange.

I have found that for certain products, things are much cheaper in the UK. For instance, you can get a BlackBerry approx. $150 cheaper in the UK than here (this includes exchange and tax). In the horse world, I noticed that you can get horse blankets $200 cheaper (again, including exchange and tax) cheaper in the UK than here!

Give me a list of prices for things you are curious about and I would be happy to compare.

We are always spending (life with a family) and I work with a gal who is super keen to find deals, so I am always hearing about price comparisons.

Canada is expensive. I lived in Tokyo for a few years and I find the prices are the same. However! I'm paying more for rent now in a rural area of Ontario than I did for rent in Tokyo. Ekk!

Actually, when I think about it; internet, cell phones, transportation, insurance, medical expenses, food, rent, banking, just about everything is more expensive in Ontario than Tokyo. And, not only are they more expensive, they are about 15-20 yrs behind in technology, and the service is... Well, Bell, anyone???
