Are you an experienced traveller?

Post Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:25 pm

Hello! :) I'm a new face on these forums. I'm browsing my options for working abroad next summer.
I've been planning my schooling so far and I've come to the decision that if my applications to universities in the UK don't fall through, I'd rather stay in Canada for school and go to Europe for work during the summer. I'm studying Art & Design and would prefer to work in a field related to it. If not then I'm totally down with working at a cafe, tourist office and such and such.

I'd love to hear your opinions on these countries if you've ever lived and worked there!

Okay! So here's my list of fantastic destinations:
- England
- Norway
- Netherlands
- Germany
- France
- Belgium

Share your good and bad experiences too as it would help me in my research.
Thanks!

Check out HI employment opps.
Make sure you qualify for youth employment visas for those countries first.
Norway: dark and cold for most of the year.
France: better be fluent in french
Belgium: better be fluent in french and german

Don't have your heart set on finding employment though. Just travel. Your best bet is probably the UK if you really want to try to do both and you're fluent only in English.
