Hi

I'm a 37 yr old Decorative Artist (studied in France a few years ago). It is next to impossible to find a company to sponsor me as most artisans are freelance and do not belong to large companies etc. Is anyone aware of any special provisions for artisans to stay in France for atleast a year (maybe permanent if possible)? Of course I would need to have some sort of part-time work to subsidize my time and creative endeavours however it is unlikely that anyone would hire me unless I was in France already and they had an opportunity to experience my work. Anyone know what the creative types do to stay in France? I would also like to hear what other Canucks have done in regards to health insurance in France to lengthy stays.

many thanks of any info
