It's cheap! A hell of a lot cheaper than here (in most European countries..Scandinavia is expensive)

Example - I saw a bottle of Bailey's in the liquor store for $26 the other day - I got the same size bottle in Germany for like 10 Euro. Way cheaper over all, but in the bars expect to pay the same price for cocktails and stuff. Beer is generally cheaper (depending on which beer) at bars, and way cheaper in the stores.

It depends on what you're up to.

Many bars and clubs stay open all night long, so you can keep going for a loong time.

In fact you can drink just about anywhere. You can drink on many of the streets (so long as you're not being loud and obnoxious), and liquor is privatized so you can buy alcohol at just about any store. Some places you can even get it in vending machines.

Either way, if you're going to party, you're gonna have fun. But don't get so blitzed you can't take care of yourself - remember, you're in a foreign country and the last thing you need is to get yourself in trouble while drunk.

That being said, I suddenly feel like a beer :)

Have fun!

Oh and one more thing - Some place will charge you more for drinks as the night goes on.

Happened to me in Barcelona..We were having some drinks, but got to the bar a little early and there weren't many people. Then, as it got later and the bar filled up (the whole time we were drinking) the prices went up without us knowing - I think they raised it at like 11pm.

Needless to say, when we got the bill it was like twice what we thought it was going to be. I've only heard of that happening in Spain where bars charge more after a certain hour, but it might happen in some other places too.
