Bank Statements for Ancestry Visa

Does anybody know a rough figure of how much money should be in my account when I send a bank statement with my appication?

From what I understand what they want to see is consistency and the ability to support yourself in the uk. A good rule of thumb is probably enough to support yourself over there for three months. There is no exact figure that will get you a visa unfortunately.

If possible have two or three months of bank statements. It might help, it might not make a difference.

The important thing is showing that you will be able to support yourself without resorting to public funds.
