Hi Guys,

Another question.I am going to the UK to live with my boyfriend under the UK Ancestry Visa - because I'm moving, and he doesn't have to, he is paying a portion of the costs for me to relocate. As a result, my bank statements show a transfer of money into my account. I am guessing this will be a flag for them, and am not sure what to put as an explanation. Any insight would be helpful!

Y'know what? In my statements I kept having large sums taken out, randomly, and with no real reason. I sent them in anyway (because there also was random checks being deposited of various amounts) with no explanations whatsoever, and figured if they had questions they could just ask. You could always do the same. Are the rest of your funds acceptable do you think? (over around $2000, probably closer to $4000 would be better, but I could easily be mistaken)

I've got enough, I hope - definitely in that range. I just read on one of the other UK sites (for Australia to get UK Ancestry) that you should include an explanation. Maybe I'll leave it out, and see if they ask. Thanks!

My boyfriend also covered a portion of my relocation costs so my statement had a recent transfer of a large sum of money and the total balance was about $4000 an I was approved just fine Smile

You should be fine- I think they want to know that you have access to the money should you need it and evidence that you plan to work when when you get there.
