Bankrupcy

I'm filling bankrupcy this month in Toronto. I plan on moving to the states late 2009. Does anyone know if I would still be able to purchase a home in America?

Depends what you mean by "purchase a home". If you're buying it with cash then yes, getting any sort of credit to buy a house in the US at the moment is tricky though.

If you need credit you're not likely to get it because either (a) you have no credit history in the US; or (b) they check your Canadian credit (which can be done, some banks will do it) and obviously if you're bankrupt your credit rating will be terrible.
