Become an American citizen

Post Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:32 am

Hello!
My name is Mia and I'm from Toronto, Canada. I'm currently attending the University of Toronto and I'm planning to move to America once I finish University. I want to attend Law School in America but because of how expensive it is for an international student, I want to wait until I am an American citizen. I thought once I get a green card, I would work for 5 years then when I do become an American citizen, I can attend Law School.
So the MAIN problem here is finding a way to get a green card. I'm not going to get married to an America and getting sponsored by a relative is not possible. I know getting sponsored by a job is possible but the hell can I do with a bachelor's degree?
Is there other ways I can get an American citizen?

You can only become a US citizen by immigration -- either by marriage, or by finding a long-term job for an employer willing to sponsor you for a GC.

Since you consider your bach degree as useless, I'm guessing you are probably right. Shoulda picked a better major. UofT has a pretty good law school.
