Hi
I am thinking about a UK venturing travel. However one of the means of transport that came to mind was bicycle and or a locally acquired moped.
I am thinking something between a week or two and traveling from Edinburgh to Leeds and Manchester and eventually to down London. A simple map looking tells me about 600 straightline kilometers, which would be maybe 1000kms actual road. doing 5 hours a day at 20kms/hr that is ten days and rest of each day is left for visiting.
Now what I don't know is the local regulation for licensing and whatnot and also the effect of altitude and road condition.
Also, and for this I am here, I am hoping every 100k I could find some town worth visiting. But if all the country side is alike and there novelty wears out fast, then it would defeat the purpose. E.g., doing the same for central Canada would be torture!
Is it possible to get a used bike/scooter locally? and for how much?
Would one get to see ALOT more than traveling by train?
It is matter of personal opinion but I like to hear those,
Thanks
