Birth Certificates - HELP ASAP!

Post Mon Jan 11, 2010 11:36 pm

I've got my Grandma's original 1921 BC from the UK for my ancestry visa application. What I have for my Father and I is from the registrar's office, showing both of our parents names, but they aren't hand written! Are these the right certificates?

If it's from the registrar and is raised-stamped, that should be fine. Many registrars have put their records in more readable or electronic format.

The ones that I have don't have a raised stamp, persey, but they say "Certified Extract of Original Copy" and are signed by the regsitrar with my birthplace, date of birth, registration number, the name of both my parents and their birthplaces: my dad's has his parents name, but not their birthplace :( The office here in Newfoundland told him that was considered long form??

Thank you so much for replying. My appointment is next Monday and I am freaking out!
