I went to England and Amsterdam last year and had a fabulous time. Fell in love with the way of life there and am thinking about going to Western Europe for a little while to get away for a bit.
Amsterdam is top of my list of places to live b/c I absolutely adored it. Spain is my second choice b/c I've always wanted to go and I speak Spanish so it would be a bit easier for me than for non-Spanish speaking people.

I'm still sorta sorting in my mind what exactly it is that I want to do: either tour Europe for 3-4 months and get a real feel for it or just up and leave and move there altogether and chance it. However, I do have a couple of dogs - one of them being quite old (14).

Has anyone upped and moved to Europe and brought their pets with them and if so, what was the whole process like?

Thanks!

Heya - sounds like it would be a fun trip!

But I think when you bring animals over, they have to have all the paperwork - proof of shots, etc. And then I think they need to be quarantined for several weeks (like not allowed to leave your apartment type of thing).

You might want to check with the Dutch embassy or something just incase. It may also depend on the breed of dog!

Good luck Smile

Yeah, that's the thing that really bites my ass is the paperwork, not to mention the costs.

I dont know - ir worse comes to worse - I think I may be able to leave them with my brother for a little while and venture off on my own and not have to worry about that if I do decide to just backpack for a couple of months.

Thanks for your help!
