British by decent and bringing daughter to UK?

Hi! I'm Canadian born, with a father who was born in Scotland. And I've figured out that I am able to get my British passport. My question is, I have a 1 year old daughter and can not move to the UK without her. So I was wondering, once I have my British passport what visa do I need to apply for, for her? Would it be a child settlement visa(not sure on correct name).and am I able to apply for that visa while I'm still living in Canada and will have not actually lived in the UK yet?

Also, we do have a play to live once in the UK, and I will be able to obtain employment once I'm there. And would I need to have a certain amount of money in my bank accounts to show I can support my daughter once in the UK?

Any help would be great. I'm sort of in the dark on this one. Thanks!
