Hi, my parents were born in england in the fifties and both immigrated to Canada during their youth (younger than 10 I believe). I was born in Canada in 1984.

I've been told by many people that because my parents are both from England and I'm first generation Canadian that it would be very easy for me to gain Dual Citizenship between the two countries.
I've looked online for information regarding dual citizenship requirements but I've had no luck.

Could anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Yeah you can get a British Passport and have Dual Citizenship. My mum was born in England I applied for my British Passport and got it. It's great to have when you go over! You can visit the the Ottawa British High Commissions webpage and you can print off the UK Passport forms on there. Also it lets you know the fees and the documents you need to submit with your application. They tell you it takes a couple months, but I sent mine off and 2 weeks later I got my UK Passport. It's just a hassle having to get all the documentation, but once you get all that, YOU'RE SET!
