Hey Pipehippo, try out The Visa Place based in Toronto. They are pretty good. Toll free number is 866-929-0991 Good luck!

Why do you need a lawyer? There's no real advantage to having a lawyer do it.

I was told the E2 visa application is really complicated and having a (experienced) lawyer would ease the pain in handling all the documentation involved.
Is your opinion that doing it thru a lawyer would make no difference than going solo?

Well, I know nothing about the E2 visa, but I didn't know anything about the L1B or the K3 visa either, and I ended up doing those on my own.

Go read the instructions on the visa forms at the USCIS website. If its too complicated and you figure you can't do it on your own, hire a lawyer. If you can read it just fine, a lawyer isn't going to do anything for you other than take your money really. They can't speed up the process or guarantee that it'll be approved. In many cases I've read about, they've actually done more harm than good.

All the paperwork should be available at the USCIS website.

No he's right, E-2 is really complex, it does help to use an immigration consultant for E visas. For one thing it requires a visa, which most non-immigrant categories for Canadians don't.

If you do a search through the threads on here, there have been a couple of consultants who have posted about helping with E visas.
