I am self-employed and I spend a lot of time in France. I am starting a cooking school there and will be looking for property this summer. I wasn't intending on living in
France full-time, only part time (the official company will be run from Canada), but I would consider it if it makes more sense. I am curious about the visa laws. Do you know, if you own property in France, does it allow you more time in the country? Generally Canadians can stay 90 days within a 6 month period, but that does't work for me, as I will have to go back and forth a few times in the year, and likely go over that 90 days. I've gone through the process of a long-stay traveller's visa, but I don't think that is a long term solution. Do you have any suggestions of where I can go to get information on visas etc? I have tried the French consulate in Canada, but I haven't found them helpful at all. Any information would be much appreciated. Once I am in France looking at property, I'm sure I'll have much more specific questions! Thanks for your help.
