Maadi questions........

Some answers to your questions...

Most affordable access to Internet is by dial-up using local telephone lines. Costs are cheap. Broadband is becoming more common but is very expensive. I run a consulting business from home and don't find access a problem. However, would be a problem if you wanted to download a lot of material.

All power is 220

Yes there are some areas quieter than others - however, most of Maadi is quieter than the rest of greater Cairo.

live through a few days of 45 degrees and you'll want A/C at least in the bedrooms

doctors and dentists are often European or American trained. They are very good at diagnosis but love to prescribe drugs. And, you can get most drugs without a prescription. However, if you need surgery, nursing care could kill you....
