This is such a wide sweeping generalization, and then to top it off you sarcasticly say that this practice only happens in the US.

I currently rent and have been a landlord in both Canada and the US. If you don't check out your tenant prior to letting them into valuable property, then you are not using proper business practices and in fact are being very stupid and careless.

Yes. And that's what makes them 3rd-class. People who buy homes in the US, especially in the past decade didn't even need to have a credit check performed on them t obuy a house.

So, let me repeat, with the following subtle difference:

Renters are treated like 3rd-class.

I don't see why they say that they can't run a Canadian Credit Check, they can just get it from the Internet after all !!!
