Can anyone help with some info on moving to Montreal?

Hi, I was wondering If anyone could help me gather information on moving to Montreal. Any info would be helpful. I'm a US Citizen, about to be married to a Canadian Citizen. He's from Montreal, but has lived and studied in the US, and we're planning on moving there after we get married. I was wondering if I needed any documentation to cross the border, or If I could just move with him, since he maintains his citizenship and then file for permanent residency after we move? Also, I'll be keeping my job in the US and working remotely, does anyone have any info on how that would affect how I receive my pay electronically or paying taxes in the US or Canada? Thanks!
