I worked in the U.S. for 1.5 years from 2007-2008 and my total taxed earnings were:
2007 - $6,198
2008 - $12,837
My statement says that I paid: $1,179 for Social Security and $275 for medicare and that my employer matched these amounts.
As I no longer work in the U.S and won't be paying any more into Social Security, is there a way I can get this money back now???
Thanks.
