can i re-enter the us after 12day vacation in New Zealand?

Good day all!!!
I'm a South African currently on a h2b visa in the US.I want to go to New Zealand for 12 days on vacation.My visa and I-94 form is still valid till May 31 2010. My question is...will i be able to re-enter the US after my visit to New Zealand to complete my working contract with the company i work for?What should i do regarding my I-94 form? If or when i have to surrender my I-94 Form...how or will i get a new one?I've been going in circles concerning this issue.I would really really appreciate your help on this matter.

You need to carry a copy of the approval notice you got with your H petition. It has a petition number on it. You will get a new I-94 when you enter, having given the old one to the airline agent when you leave. Its really only TNs/TDs/H4s (not h1's) that are advised to hold onto their I-94s. Others are ok with petition proof.

As long as you show this, and are still legally employed, you will be allowed back, so have proof of that

Thank you so much for your help I'm so relieved and now i can finally book my flight. The agency i'm working for has not been of much help regarding my concerns of whether or not i'll be able to re-enter the US to complete my contract.
