Hi,
My wife has an L1 B visa. I will join her later but for now, I need to land into USA, get my I-94 and L2 B visa and come back to Canada for 2 months before I move permanently (hopefully!!) to USA. Would this create a problem for me ???
please help,
Thanks

No. But you may need to go for 'biometrics' for the EAD at the CIS office nearest your US residence, so you might need to make a trip at some point.
But travelling is not a problem.

L visas are multiple entry so you shouldn't have a problem. Just make sure they stamp it "multiple entry" apparently sometimes they forget. I saw a guy with a
TN arguing about that at the airport one time. They wouldn't let him back in to the US because his stamp didn't say multiple entry.

Often I-94s are not stamped anymore (I never had it stamped on the 5 or 6 I-94s I had), and this should not be a concern. The experience Reba witnessed was extremenrly unusual, and a talk with officer's super would have gotten this rectified in two seconds.

Thanks Reba and Angelson.
Another question :
Is it okay if I continue to work in Canada for the 2 months until i go to USA ? Is this allowed ?
Thanks,

Of course, you can do whatever you want in canada -- now, tomorrow, and whenever -- if you are a Cdn citizen or PR.

Three days ago I passed through airport US immigration where I got my I-94 and L2 B visa (stamped with multiple entry). My wife with L1 B visa stayed in the USA and i cam back to Canada. At the US booth, the immigration officer took our finger biometrics and pictures. I will be applying for EAD and eventually will get an biometrics appointment. My question is : is this necessary ? I mean what we took it looked "biometrics test" to me ???
Thanks for your help.

Every time you get an EAD you will be fingerprinted. This is to ensure that you are the one applying for the EAD.
The border fingerprints are for entry purposes. Your EAD is for work purposes. Separate reason, separate process.
