can Tax - not find a question/answer exactly matching

If we travel or live abroad, we usually come back to visit right? Here's a the place to meet other "re-pats" and Canadians who have returned.

can Tax - not find a question/answer exactly matching

Post Mon Jul 12, 2010 1:36 pm

I am a Canadian that has recently returned to Canada.

Trasferred to US on an L1A visa in 2004 and recieved Green Card in 2007.

I HAVE USED 3 OF MY 6 YEARS ON MY L1A VISA. i need more than 3 years to keep my job.

lawyer is suggesting that i get a commuter Green Card, but i am getting double talk on taxes.

know of a solid source i can rely on ?? do not want to pay more taxes.

If you return to canada, regardless of your US immig status, you will be subject to Cdn taxes as a resident.

forums.serbinski.com is a better suited place to get answers
This site is a travel site and not best source for these topics:
TN and TD info: http://forums.immigration.com/forumdisp ... -TN-Status
For US/Cdn taxes and SS/CPP:forums.serbinski.com/index.php
US Marriage-based Immigration: visajourney.com
